Warbirds & Wheels - Wanaka

We have been providing security services in the Wanaka district since 1985. Back in 2010 we were approached by a group of Wanaka clients who had the vision of providing a visitor attraction at Wanaka Airport that would be a home to a stunning collection of warbirds, classic vehicles and art works in addition to housing Sir Tim Wallis memorabilia. We took the opportunity of supporting the concept and financially sponsored the creation of this project.

It was our pleasure to provide security and fire detection solutions to Warbirds and Wheels. After many weeks work the project was completed on schedule, in time for the opening of the attraction at the end of 2011. Warbirds and Wheels incorporates a stunning collection of unique exhibits, a cafe and a retail shop.

This facility is a ‘must see’. You don’t have to be interested in vehicles or aircraft to appreciate the beauty of the engineering and art forms that make up Warbirds and Wheels. Aircraft on display include an ex-RNZAF Skyhawk, a Vampire and a Hurricane. The world class collection of classic cars features the only Duesenberg Model J in the Southern Hemisphere. The visitor attraction is open 7 days a week from 9am and is located just inside the main entrance to Wanaka Airport on the Luggate-Wanaka Highway just 6 km out of the Wanaka township.
